Hay algo tan íntimo, tan social y tan profundo que se crea entorno a una mesa cuando hay restos de los entrantes, azucarillos de los cafés y manchas de vino en el mantel, que no aparece cuando el mantel está todavía blanco.

This illustration is part of the SOBREMESAS collection, a series of canvases painted with acrylics, where I explore and revel in the idea of celebrating that moment after a meal. There’s something so intimate, so social, and so deep that forms around a table when there are leftover starters, sugar packets from the coffees, and wine stains on the tablecloth—something that just doesn’t show up when the tablecloth is still spotless.
